Don’t Joke With A Hungry (Wo)man.

and he says “***** **** ** **** **** ***** *** *** ** ** ***********”

….
…..
……
(v.o.)
words have somehow along the way lost the weight they once held
what ever happened to integrity?
we live in a time when words are just thrown around
carelessly
easily misconstrued
tossed aside
forgotten
people forget what they say so easily
if it is so forgettable…
was it worth saying in the first place?
nowadays
words can be copied & pasted, chopped & screwed, im’d, text messaged,
without a thought to where they’re going
or who is keeping them
words come and go too easy now
hurled into oblivion
with reckless abandon
& those
who need them
like food (or water)
hungrily grab at each one
not careful enough to realize that they didn’t really mean it when they said
“i love you!”
poor, starving, rescuer of words
put them down.
they are not for you.

not a lot, but *some* time passes, and she says
“if at any time you should have need for my life, come, and take it”
idle, idle, like chekhov’s seagull.

alternate ending!!! -->

not a lot, but *some* time passes and she says
nothing. but walks away. ever so gracefully.
